Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator is an essential member of the management team responsible for ensuring that EHS systems and programs are properly established and maintained for effective and efficient compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, and provide strategic leadership and direction for continuous improvement efforts in those programs. This position reports to the Director of Quality and Process Engineering.
Manage compliance activities including preparation, review, and auditing of EHS programs and procedures.
Develop and administer EH&S training programs in accordance with annual plan.
Lead accident investigations and determination of root cause / preventive measures
Manage environmental reporting records as well as submit required reports to regulatory agencies
Enhance EHS management system controls to include programs such as contractor safety management, new material review, design review, annual compliance calendars, etc.
Recommend and drive change to improve EHS performance and reduce risks
Chair and leads Safety Committee
Maintain OSHA 300 log and reporting of regulatory information.
Manage Hearing Conservation Program activities
Generate SOP's for regulatory compliance and other EH&S initiatives as required
Engage in efforts to create and implement standard safe work practices on the manufacturing floor via JHA/JSP system Implement behavioral based safety initiatives
Engage in Lean initiatives that include driving safety-at-the-source
Review and approves capital projects to ensure all EHS aspects are addressed
BS degree EH&S discipline or equivalent Engineering or Science Degree.
5+ years EHS experience in manufacturing.
Experience in direct EH&S support role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Must be self-motivated, energetic and independent thinker
Must exhibit passion for safety compliance and environmental
Excellent interpersonal and interfacing skills across a diverse range of personnel
Demonstrate clear and effective communication and presentation skills Individual should be a self-motivated, assertive thinker that can work effectively in a freely structured environment
Demonstrated strength in Safety and Industrial Hygiene preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
